Emma Woodhouse - Anouchka Goldman
Anouchka is in her first year studying Human Sciences at Magdalen. Roles at
school included Ophelia in Hamlet and Abigail in The Crucible. Last term
she also played Gertrude in Oscar Wilde's An Ideal Husband at the OFS.
Jane Austen - Julie Vatain
Julie started acting when she was very little, and never really stopped. She is lucky enough to be writing a DPhil on dramatic language and
its translation - which means that all her theatrical activites can now, of
course, count as research. As an actress, Julie did more Molière at school in France than she can remember. She was also Camille in On ne Badine pas avec l'amour, by Musset, Sylvia in Le Jeu de l'amour et du hasard by Marivaux, Cecily and later Gwendolen in Oscar
Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest, and Sergeant Trotter in The Mousetrap by Agatha Christie. In Oxford she has appeared in Rituals in Blood, No Exit, Double Vision (French Lady Bracknell) and The
Jew of Malta (Katherine). Jane Austen in Emma will be her last part in
Oxford, and one of the coolest she's ever had.
Harriet - Sophie Evans-Piper
Sophie is a 2nd year English student at St John's. She loves performing arts
and last year appeared in Romeo and Juliet (OFS) and As You Like It (New
College). Her other hobbies include experimenting with her beloved slow cooker
and learning Mandarin. She is a massive Austen fan and greatly excited about
being part of Emma.
Mrs Weston - Laura Noiret
Laura is a second year engineer at Brasenose College. Having acted in various embarrassing productions whilst at school, she is currently enjoying being involved in Oxford drama, and has so far been in The Tempest (TT05) and Orestes (MT05), as well as directing The Yalta Game (MT05), with more exciting things planned for the coming term.
Jane Fairfax - Priyanka Jacob
Miss Bates - Rachel Piercey
I am a first year English student at St Hugh's, and this is my second play in
Oxford, and indeed my life. My stage debut was last term in Beckett's Play,
where I had to sit in an urn and talk very very fast.
Isabella - Elizabeth Gunstone
Elizabeth is a first year Psychologist at Balliol College. When she's
not trying to read peoples minds she is trying to imitate them through acting!
Her debut as an Oxford actress occured in Hilary term where she performed in
Eve Ensler's acclaimed 'Vagina Monolgues', to raise money for Vday charity. In
her home county, Nottinghamshire, her acting credentials span from acting the
evil 'mirror' in the pantomime 'Snow White and the Resevoir Dogs' to performing
as the soldier in the vibrant musical 'Jesus Christ Superstar'. In Trinity term
she hopes to succeed in performing interpretations of two plays that stem from
texts which unarguably deserve their place in the canon of English Literature,
that is Shakespeare's 'Much Ado about Nothing' and Austen's 'Emma'.
Mrs Elton - Keaton McGruder
Mrs Goddard - Katrina Richter

Mr Knightley - Will Young
Will is coming to the end of his first year studying PPE at Wadham College.
This is his fifth appearance on stage in Oxford, with previous roles including
Harry Henderson in Racing Demon and Ithamore in Jew of Malta (both at the
OFS in Hilary 06). This term he is also appearing in 'Beckett Shorts at the
OFS' (first week at the OFS) and is trying his hand at producing,
for Nevermore at the BT in fourth week.
Mr Woodhouse - Benjamin Forrest
I'm a first year psychologist at St. Anne's. I haven't done any drama at
Oxford but at school took part in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Guys and Dolls and Canterbury Tales. Outside school I played Thenardier in Les Miserables. In my 'spare time' I do rowing and Frisbee. I also write horrifically bad
theatrical biogs.
Frank Churchill - Peter Finding
Peter is surprisingly old. Graduating in law last year from Lincoln, he's
currently at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice. In keeping with his age,
he's been about a bit - we're talking about drama here... Highlights in Oxford
include: Bebop, To Those Who Haven't Stopped Thinking (BT, 03); Sanderson,
Another Country (OFS, 04); Flamenio, The White Devil (OFS, 04); Freddy,
Pygmalion (Lincoln, 04); Stanton, Dangerous Corner (Lincoln, 06). When he's not rummaging in the dressing-up box, he enjoys chasing a red ball around a
field.
Mr Elton - Robert MacDonald
Robbie is a 2nd year Classicist at St Anne's. He was in many plays at school,
including Checkov's Short Plays, Little Shop of Horrors and Bouncers. At Oxford Emma is his first play since Harold Pinter's Party Time in cuppers. He also co-directed Loot by Joe Orton earlier this term.
Mr Martin - Richard Duffy
Mr Weston - Lee Solomons
